They told me no.They said "You're never gonna make it."
Well this is proving you wrong.
Though it took lies,
Tears, and blood,
Backstabbing friend
A quick way to the end.
The despair of failure
Laced throughout my conscience,
The bleeding heart
The black and blue tears.
I cried, I cried,
For this to end
For a new wind to come,
For their wills to bend.
A few more years,
Hundreds more tears
Still I slept not
Peace elusive.
And then one day
Redemption came
In the form of a dark green Post It
Attached to a red balloon.
The Post Its words
I will forget them not
"Love and labor as you ought"
For some strange reason,
I could tell you not why,
The tears just stopped,
No longer I cry.
The words on the Post It
Brought indelible hope
Now for love
For friends
For peace
I no longer grope.
Some adhesive
A recycled tree
Spared a suicide
Saved me.
