I love her hair, which is what first attracted me to the picture - I mean to get turquoise hair as soon as I gather the courage and I admire her greatly for it. Her expression is so soft and the lighting is wonderful as well. Also, pretty awesome tattoos XDΒ

I know you're a "christian" from your profile, but I am VERY sure Jesus would not say something like that. Yes it may be revealing but you're not making Christians look very Christianly. This is why so many people think Christians are so hateful and judgmental, when in fact they shouldn't be, and the real ones aren't like that. And I'm sure you're not perfect, so what makes you think she is? And not everyone has the same morals as you. Just thought I'd put that out there. Think about what you post as a Christian and Have a Happy New Year.

Honey, I didn't bring my religion into my comment, because for me this isn't a religious issue. But since you feel like doing that, I think it is very wrong as Christians to roll over and accept or support immorality. As Christians, you and I should have the same morals. So maybe you should take another look at God's Word before claiming that someone putting their body on display like this is morally fine.

It does not matter if you did or not, the fact that you are suppose to be a good example to other people is important! I'm not saying you aren't really, because I do not know you, but using those choice of words to say that you disagree with how she dresses isn't right. I'm sure Jesus wouldn't go around calling women "sluts" because he disagrees with their clothing choices. He would most likely pray for the ones who are lost. People should expect kindness from Christians, not hate. And I did not say anything about me agreeing with her dress code. I simply was telling you how you should not comment such things of that word choice, in fact if you see something like that and feel the urge of saying something hateful it's probably not of God, instead why don't you take a minute to pray for them instead? And I know what good morals are in the bible, my parents taught me well enough not to dress so revealingly, and act like a lady.Β

I understand where you're coming from. However, I find it hard to have any degree of patience for this kind of "art". As a psychology graduate, I've read a lot of studies about women being objectified in the media and how it bleeds over to contributing to the sexual harassment women experience in the world. Photos like this are part of the problem, and it's really sad to see this kind of sexism continue to spread.
From a religious perspective - since that seems to be your focus - I too believe prayer is important and can do wonders. I've seen it often enough myself. But I also believe God expects us to take action and not just passively pray. Jesus and strong people of God in the Bible had no problem calling out bad things when they saw them and didn't try to sugar-coat things that were wrong. I don't believe in doing that, either.

On another note, social change is never enacted by people being super sweet about things and being too afraid to stand up and say something is wrong. I refuse to be one of those people.

You're right, but I've had enough of people bashing religion in the wrong way in my life. I just don't think you used the right wording to tell them what they are doing is wrong. And you're totally right about all that, I just don't like how non sensitive ways "Christians" say some things.Β

And yes he does, but not so much in a way to just throw your words around. And yes it is wrong to dress like that even if you say it's art, but not everyone understands that. That's the way my father is, but I think he does it wrongly, and that, I don't like. He makes me want to not believe because he is so mean about it. But I know that's not the Godly way, so I. Don't look to him as a Godly example.Β

And I totally understand.Β

I agree. I probably was too blunt, but with things like this that I feel are just so wrong and add to problems that are already big enough, I don't have much patience, haha. Yes, being very loudly Christian on my profile here and writing a lot of pieces that bring up evidence for Christianity and against other religious or secular viewpoints, I see lots of religion bashing. It's really sad to see, I hope the people without Jesus will realize how wrong they are before it's too late.

I think I understand what you're saying about your dad, I have a step-grandma like that too. She's Christian, but she goes about things the wrong way. Like if you're sick, she thinks it's because God is punishing you, which is completely wrong.

I know how you feel.. I know, but most just don't want to believe. Β I for one, need to get myself together.... XD

Β Yeah, my dad also has PTS, and I think he is bipolar on top of that. But I have gotten used to it, mostly... Β Yeah God doesn't necessarily do that kind of punishing.. He loves. God is love.Β

Allendra3 In reply to xXPlatinumSkiesXx [2014-01-08 15:01:41 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Christians who have that "holier than thou" attitude make me sad, because part of being Christian is admitting you are imperfect. Was your dad in the military?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

xXPlatinumSkiesXx In reply to Allendra3 [2014-01-08 19:29:48 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's not how my dad is really he just pushes it, and thinks not of what he's doing I suppose.. Very true.Β

And he was in the marines when he was younger, then he went in to go pick up their blown up trucks to fix them, and that's when he saw dead soldiers in them and on the road. He also feels bad, because the company he worked for picked up little kids that were the side of the roads, and sold them.. So he feels guilty for helping them fix their trucks to do that.

Allendra3 In reply to xXPlatinumSkiesXx [2014-01-08 21:36:06 +0000 UTC]

Ah, that sounds really awful. Well the psychologist in me thinks that maybe why he's so structured when it comes to religion is because of his military background. You know, the rules are the rules, everything has to be a certain way and no deviation is tolerated. Probably also why he is so strict about it is because of the incident with the children, I'm sure he does feel very guilty and so maybe he's trying to repent for this by being too intense involving religion.

I have an uncle that is a firefighter, and he sees mangle and dead bodies quiet often and it upsets him as well. I definitely hope that is something I never have to see.

I had a close friend of mine get killed in a car wreck last month, and I was worried that his body wouldn't be fit for viewing. But all the damage was internal, just some bruising.

xXPlatinumSkiesXx In reply to Allendra3 [2014-01-09 01:08:21 +0000 UTC]

Well, the parenting part I think is also because how he grew up. His mother (my grandma) wasn't a very good one, at all... And his step dad, and my grandma neglected him all the time, and left him home alone when he was little, when they went on family trips. But yes, the military thing also does that...

Β I hope so too.

Β I'm sore to hear that... No one should ever have to go through that stuff...Β

And back when you said your grandma said God was punishing you if you were sick, if there weren't any bad things In the world, how would we know what sin is? We wouldn't, and everyone blames Gpd for something that we ourselves do, and what Adam and Eve did in the garden.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Allendra3 In reply to xXPlatinumSkiesXx [2014-01-10 17:10:16 +0000 UTC]

Aw sorry to hear that. Yeah, that could all be contributors to how he views the Bible.

Thank you, last month was probably the worst month of my life and if we all hadn't been Christians I can't imagine how we would cope. Only one of his friends is an atheist and I've heard he's taking it hard. Maybe this experience will change him.

Exactly. God exists apart from the world, so things happen in it that are contrary to His Will. Humans bring sin here, God is not to blame.

It's okay, I think he is a little better maybe.. And well, kinda.

Yeah, good thing you guys are. Well just pray for him. And maybe it will, or maybe it will make it worse...

Β I lost a friend to leukemia, and he was only 14. But his parents and him were okay with him going, because they know he will get to heaven when judgment day has come. And a family like that, so strong, I really admire and look up to. They are AMAZING Christians, I have never met any so dedicated to God as they are.Β

This is Satan's world for the time being.. And he has many tricks up his sleeve. Just because someone says they believe in God does not mean they are Christians, because Satan believes in God and he is far from being one of His angels anymore.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Allendra3 In reply to xXPlatinumSkiesXx [2014-01-13 17:00:00 +0000 UTC]

Definitely! Belief in God alone doesn't make you Christian. That's very inspiring of them, even knowing you are going to see your loved ones again, death is hard to deal with. Yes, actually my late friend's mother has leaned on God for support, but she said her sister - my friend's aunt - is just full of hate and anger right now.

When bad things happen sometimes people will blame God when it's at that time you should lean on Him the most.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

xXPlatinumSkiesXx In reply to Allendra3 [2014-01-20 01:31:55 +0000 UTC]

They don't draw attention to themselves but to God. Which is what most of us need to be doing, but it's hard... He is sleeping, and until the resurrection will they meet again. I understand what she's going through, there are times when I want to blame God for things, but I know it's either a test, or the devil.

Yeah. You can't just push religion on someone, you must plant a seed, and be an example. God will work through them if you pray him to do so. Β
