Description
A bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis) stands proudly atop a rock outcrop as a storm approaches.The petroglyphs are based on the bighorn representing a special spirit helper to the rain shaman of the Great Basin. Sacrifice of a bighorn was symbolic of the "sacrifice" the shaman made to bring rain (meaning a trance-like state).

Really lovely work. I agree with everyone else, that your composition and lighting are really quite nice in this one. Lots of good details, and it's obvious that you put lots of work into this one.
My only nitpick is the way the highlights appear on the underside of his 'knees' on the front legs; it just makes them stand out too much as a round shape when viewed as a thumbnail. But really, I'm stretching to find that to comment on, lol, so that means you did a great job.

It turn out so beautifully! The lighting is amazing and the amount texture you achieved without making it look over-done at all is just perfect.

Oh Sage you really pushed yourself hard on this one, and it shows. The composition flows perfectly from the sun's glare, to the ram's silhouetted body, down to the beautifully textured and shadowed rocks. ;3;
That little background bit with the rolling forest and mountains, with the lightning is a wonderful touch and creates a menacing yet calm atmosphere for the setting of the composition. Just lovely.
