Description
February is Black History Month. Usually, I trot out some of my OCs for Hispanic Heritage Month in September, since that's my heritage. But this year, I have Aaliyah, my first black OC in a leading role. Here she is wearing a dress to match what are known as the "Pan-African Colors". They are taken from the flag of Ethiopia, one of the oldest surviving nations which built one of the largest African empires and converted to Christianity before Rome. Their Green, Yellow, Red standard stands for all of Africa. Sometimes you may see it as Red, Black Green, but that's more of an African-American thing.
Aaliyah's setting is meant to be ambiguous. While she and Frederick are both black, it is inspired by European Fairytales and modeled in many ways after France. So they are French-African I guess. Either way, she looks gorgeous and I hope you love her as much as I do.
