During her childhood, Loren was always the singing one along with her older brother and younger sister. She and her siblings would sing in the church choir and sometimes she sing in the school choir. While her sisters and brothers only sang as a past time enjoyment, Loren found it as a passion.

After finishing school, Loren stayed at home to help her mother around the house. During the day she helpd her mother. During the night, she would go to local joints and bars to sing to make money. It wasn't much but it was enough to help keep food on the table. This continued until she turned 23. Loren left to pursue a singing career.
