I think this was Serena's way of interacting with Ash in such a long time, which worked. However i'm still looking forward to Ash's answer towards Serena's question "Do you remember me?" in the next episode which is next week.

Obviously she is cute alright.....
I had enough of this....Every time ash gets 8 badges and compete in the championship tournament..always loses in the end....(except the battle frontier) ...this had happened for the past 16 series..I mean this repeating is making me bored....at least for once ash should be victorious in the tournament....that does not mean he has become pokemon master....he can still continue his journey....

Ash too weak: he couldn't defeat 5 Pokemon League's Competition and lost again 1th Gym Leader!

So not beating the best trainers of an entire country makes him weak?
Ash lost against Viola because he wasn't prepared for her tactic. Pikachu gets deleveled as usual, but that aside, he couldn't stand up due to Ice Beam. Couldn't concentrate. Fletchling was new and it got overpowered.
What first Gym Leader has Ice Beam and Solarbeam?
Good enough excuse for me.

Yeah, a trainer who beat two legendaries in a single match is so weak.

My thoughts exactly, except to me, it seems that Pikachu didn't get deleveled this time, just that he wasn't able to adapt to that (Pikachu has always been shown to have trouble on ice).

It still seemed a bit much, but yeah you can explain it with that. I was only annoyed when Thunderbolt was overpowered by Ice Beam, but then again you're not going to give it your best when you're struggling to stand.

No kidding. I don't think they can be faulted for that. I saw the rant, and I have to point out that during the first battle between Ash and Trip, that if you pay attention, you can see that Pikachu's failed attacks are actually hurting him, and that is why he fell so easily, because he was doing more damage to himself than the Snivy was doing to him.

That's actually a good point. Admittedly I hadn't watched it because I found it too embarrassing, but I'll take your word for it. I think it was dumb of the writers to do, but nonetheless there's a reason.

Question, did you receive my invitation to my group? I got a confirmation that it was sent, but I have a habit of checking afterwards, and it wasn't listed as having been sent to you.

Um, I want to point out that losing a Pokemon League competition doesn't mean a person is weak. I don't even know why people act like that. The people who compete in these things generally have either been training just as long as Ash, or even longer, of course there will be trainers stronger than him.

Thank you!! Finally someone says this! Everyone I see bags on Ash for not winning a league and I feel like they forget it's the equivalent of regional championships/wifi tournaments IRL. It's ridiculous.

I know. It's like they are trying to apply the games' level system to the anime. Even though levels are mentioned in the anime, it's been made clear that unlike the games, that there is no level cap. I've mentioned several times that the theme of Pokemon is that no matter how good you are, there is always someone better.

I agree. They assume because a player can beat the game, anyone should be able to... So Red's the best at everything and he's a god because he did it, but everyone else is just awful because they can't. Where's the logic? There's no in between. Sorry to go off tangent, but it's a topic that comes up a lot.
I want Ash to succeed, but it's not really that awful if he takes a long time so long as they respect his skill level.
