From an outsider point of view Serah can appear as a figure of elegance and maturity. She's very dignified in every one of her moves, which make it hard
to believe that she's from humble origins. This behaviour of her may seems a bit cold and distant but she actually very gentle towards those she care for- though she tries to not get
easely attached to others. She suffered a lot from the lost of an important person and now she doesn't want for that to happen again. As such, Serah make sure of always
keeping a certain distance when she interact with others. However once she become fond of someone she'll never let them down and will always be there for them- although she may be a bit possessive as she fear losing those dear to her. But on the battlefield only two things matter: those who are enemies and herself. And if you're targeted as an enemy well.. you can be sure that she'll show no mercy on you. However this seeming confidence of her hide in truth a deep rooted insecurity as she's afraid of never doing her best; and no one could make her think otherwise.

History:
Born in a family of experienced wyvern breeders, Serah learned to love those creatures since very young and they soon became the best friends she could ever have. She was the happiest when she received from her parents her very own wyvern, black as the night with white eyes as captivating as the moon herself. Serah named him Raven and every night she used to go out for flight with her partner.

One of those nights, when she had 15 yo, she happened to flight over what seemed a battlefield near the boundary and for the first time in her life she saw what this "war" everyone talked about was like.

Serah was mesmerized by the sight of it. But no longer after something caught her eyes. An hoshidan's archer was hiding in the woods and was clearly aiming at the one who seemed to be the commander in charge of that units. Without thinking she went down with her wyvern as fast as the light and stopped the arrow before it could hit him. The commander was confused but grateful and after the battle he properly introduced himself. His name was Glenn, Grandmaster and royal retainer. Serah was fascinated by him, not much older than her yet so capable and skilled.
She wanted to be like him.

Serah begged Glenn to take her with him so that she could join the army and learn everything she could have from him. At first he accepted mostly moved by kindness since she saved his life and thought she would have given up soon enough. But Serah was not weak and above all she was determined, becoming no longer after a precious ally to him. They started to spend more and more time together and Glenn even taught her about magic and strategy whenever he had the time. Serah was happy, really happy- but this happiness would have soon come to an end.

The hoshidans managed to capture Glenn. When she knew about it, Serah went searching for him as fast as she could, entering the enemies territory without hesitation- though it wasn't easy. She reached the enemies's base were Glenn was being held captive but alas it was too late. Glenn ended his life with his own hands so that the enemies couldn't obtain any information from him. Serah broke inside and swore revenge on everyone of them and on this stupid war.

She felt like she had lost everything; with only her dear Raven for a friend, just like in the past. The only thing she had left of Glenn were a couple of books about magic and those are now like treasure to her- because now she was determined more than ever to follow the path she once chose. One day she would guide the royal army just like he did, become a royal retainer as good as he was and maybe be someone he would'have be proud of.
