I really like this picture. It feels like I can actually imagine myself that low to the ground on the beach. Did you have to lay down on the sand to take this shot? well anyways its a great picture.

the full size resolution is massive so I have a hard time analyzing the full view. Funny b/c I have the same problem in my gallery,
but I don't change anything til someone complains. pretty good for a first shot though

i like the depth of field, but i would recommend reducing the size of the shot, to say max side = 800pixels, to make it easier to view. also, due to the quanity of megapixels your camera posseses, the suggestion above stands stronger

i love the contrast of smooth pebbles and grainy sand, but the background is too indistinct.

I love the shallow DOF and the background blur, I don't consider it a mistake. I love how the light seems to radiate from the top right corner, and the dark house(?) in the background adds to that composition. Darker hues seem to be arching from top left to lower right, with the lower left corner almost black. The greenish hues give it such a calming mood, and I agree on the contrast between the smooth pebbles and the grainy sand being great.
The photo is way too big to be fully viewed and enjoyed though.
