Description Eigth picture for the Misawa Appreciation Weekend.

After finishing a certain book all I've been wanting to draw is angels, so here's a winged Misawa to try and get the want to draw angels out while still drawing Misawa at the same time. XD I know the wings are proportioned all wrong, I really should work on that one day, but I hope they look all right at least for this picture. The cards were just something to do with his hand since I didn't want to rip off other people by having him catching a falling feather. I doubt highly that Misawa would ever give up duelling, so they don't represent him doing so if anyone was worried.

I see a groin line 8D

;w; That's so beautiful. I like how you have his shirt floating loosely around his body, like there's a heavenly blast of air floating around ruffling boys clothes.

And I think the wings are pretty too <3 Who cares about being proportionate, until an actual angel shows us the proper proportions for wings on humans, I pretty sure anything can go 8D I like the shading on them too, I just have an addiction to blue shading on white. And I'm pretty sure I've told you before, but really <333

And his expression is so sad ;w; It's like a scene from one of those films with the dramatic music. So what book were you reading to inspire this? 8D Because I'm just nosey, thx.

I'm sure any groins that can be seen are unintentional. 8D

Glad you like it, angels are a heck of a lot of fun to draw and like everything else I really should draw them more. XD Though I'm totally stealing that point about actual references for future use.

The book's called 'Good Omens' by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman. And I tell everyone to read it. But you really might like it because it's about a vaguely morally correct demon and a vaguely not morally correct angel who are both gay together while trying to stop the apocolypse from happening.

Sure they are, Sammeh. Sure they are x'D

Angels are fun to draw. They're so fluffy and sexy. Which is probably the wrong way to describe an angel [goddammit I keep typing 'angle' x'DDD]. My only problem is drawing their wings to look feathery, because it's time consuming x'D

That book sounds awesome already 8D I've added it to my virtual sticky notes so I can remember to look for it next time I'm book shopping. Which is once a month because I"m a bookstore whore. It'd probably be less expensive for me to just check books out at the library, but I love owning things x'D

At least I kept the angels from the same part of the world, even if it was by accident. XD

I had to give him an open shirt, it would be hard to do this event without some fan service.

The detail in his wings is very good. You've quite a knack for drawing them. And they look so real! Amazing. ^_^

Love the faint blue tint you gave them. Really makes them seem like they're glowing in a way.
The coloring is very nice as well. Especially on his white shirt. You can really see the shadows there.

Speaking of angels, I've been reading Good Omens

If you don't mind me asking, what book were you reading that made you want to draw angels?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SamCyberCat In reply to Dragonnerd445 [2009-06-18 15:33:57 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. ^^ I always worry about making wings look disjointed but I'm glad you like them. XD

Yes, I always think blue tints work better for wings and wedding dresses than the grey tints I give everything else. It makes them look special. ^^

You hit the nail on the head! The book I was really was Good Omens, and it instantly became my favourite book.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonnerd445 In reply to SamCyberCat [2009-06-18 19:52:30 +0000 UTC]

Good Omens is a fantastic book. I've just started reading it but already Crowley and Aziraphal are my favs. ^^

I've heard there was supossed to be a live-action film made (rumored to star Robin Williams and Johnny Depp. )

but it was never made. Huh. Odd.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SamCyberCat In reply to Dragonnerd445 [2009-06-19 15:19:58 +0000 UTC]

They were instantly my favourites too, they're so awesome. But I won't spoil it too much for you by talking about it. XD

Yeah, I saw a bit about that on Wikipedia. As awesome as it would have been to have Johnny Depp and Robin Williams in the movie maybe it's a good thing it didn't happen. Though with the success of Coraline it looks more likely.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonnerd445 In reply to SamCyberCat [2009-06-19 18:08:56 +0000 UTC]

Coraline seems like an intresting film, but a bit too much like Tim burton's other works.

Ah, hopefully it'll be made into a movie. I hope so anyway. XD

Huh, why is it a good idea the film didn't happen? They were going to have a bad director or something?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SamCyberCat In reply to Dragonnerd445 [2009-06-19 18:12:57 +0000 UTC]

It does look interesting, though they played too hard on Tim Burton being involved when he actually wasn't. ^^

Oh no, I heard it was going to have a pretty good director, I'd just worry that a lot of people would judge it without reading the book.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonnerd445 In reply to SamCyberCat [2009-06-19 18:18:07 +0000 UTC]

Really? he wasn't involved much? That's news to me considering it said 'Tim Burton's Coraline'

Guess that's what he puts on all his films.

Oh, yeh. I hear you there. That happens alot with people. I have to confess I've been guilty of it, too.

I would watch a film and say this sucks and then think the book would suck, too.

But then i'd eventually read the novel and it would turn out awesome. XD

It's not a good idea to watch the movie before reading the book anyway. For me, the images of the actors/actresses get stuck in my head, so when I read the book, it's what I envision in my head.

It's so frustrating to read HP now!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SamCyberCat In reply to Dragonnerd445 [2009-06-22 15:21:13 +0000 UTC]

No, it doesn't actually say it's Tim Burton's Coraline. At least on all the covers I've seen it says "from the Director of The Nightmare Before Christmas", who was Henry Selick. He was the one who worked on Coraline as well, and as far as I know Tim Burton wasn't involved.

Same here. XD Though I have to admit guility that even though I didn't agree with a lot of the changes they made I actually liked the film version of Lord of the Rings a bit more than the book in places.

I was lucky enough to have read HP before the movies came out. ^^ But I really haven't watched the movies since the fourth one.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonnerd445 In reply to SamCyberCat [2009-06-22 18:14:44 +0000 UTC]

Oh. Really? I thought Tim Burton was involved in some way. 0-o

I think I got Henry Selick mixed up with him. I often forget that he didn't really direct it.

TLOTR films are absolutely outstanding. XD I have to admit that I haven't read any of the novels yet. But I am reading 'The Hobbit'

Pretty good read. Tolkein's an amazing writer. ^_^

Yeh, I'd stay away from the 5th one. That one just...bombed.

I heard they weren't that good...

SamCyberCat In reply to Dragonnerd445 [2009-06-25 15:21:26 +0000 UTC]

The thing about the LotR books are that they are long. And they feel long to read them, it does take a lot out of you. It truly is a wonderful story but Tolkien can ramble about trees and mushrooms a loy. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragonnerd445 In reply to SamCyberCat [2009-06-26 03:03:47 +0000 UTC]

I heard he could ramble about trees for up to three pages.

Not that that's a bad thing. If anything it adds to the world that he created.

Have you heard of the Simillirion? (don't know if I spelled that right. )

Yep, I've got a copy of that though I haven't read it yet. ^^

Yes, that novel is literally cramed with every miniscule detail you could want to know, I've heard.
