I quite like it this way, brings all the attention to the character. And the background is abstract enough to imagine all sort of places he's in. But yeah, it would probably better to add some more detail to the background, so that there wouldn't be such a "jump" between the two

Yeah, from a distance the two density's look fine but up close the problem becomes much more apparent. Hopefully I'll see to it that I don't make this mistake in the future

Yeah, I think you made him look too detailed compared to the rest of the picture, makes the whole thing look unfinished. Will you simplify the person or add more detail to the background? I'd like to see it either way.
