thanks., well my technique is doing a pencil picture first then scanning into photoshop. then i colour it and add texture ...
basically it takes hours and i get very bored but i guess it's worth it ?

( i think the bird would possibly be one of otters imaginary friends anyway)

i use photoshop for all my layers. i only every use photoshop really, ... veryy occasionaly illustrator . but i find pphotoshop does anythign i need it too

i love photoshop - not as much as i love the otter though !

photoshop confuses me, i do everything by hand and try to stay far from coputers until needed. lol

Oh boy, I'm definitely losing the plot here .... when I see this, I think of those middle aged men, the type who still live with their Mum, is called Norman, have knitted jumpers and go 'train watching'.... I bet there's a little mother bird somewhere in the background franticly collecting worms for his supper.

(*slaps herself back to reality) I love the 'old canvas' feel to the background and the grass is absolutely amazing - I feel I could reach out and touch it. Brillaint work Sam - otter would be proud of you.

heheh from now on the birds name is norman then , he needed a name and norman seems perfect !!!

hehe i loved "otter would be proud of you" very much also , made me laugh.

i can imagine her getting her crayons out to try and do a picture of a bird herself - but getting upset because her drawing skills ( due to being an otter) would be rather poor

... he's too much of a fatty to fit through his front door!
i suppose he could become thinner, or his door could become wider in order to accomodate his birdy girth

incidently i hated whoever it was that made fungus the bogey man into a tv programme ...
totally ruined it

Really nice use of color and line! This is one of my new favorites from you! It feels a lot more sophisticated than a lot of your previous work and I think it's because you allowed for a little more precision in terms of line weight, color, and value. I like this direction.

(that pleased me ) i'm always hoping every new thing i upload will be the best yet - but sadly it doesnt really work like that.
but yeah im glad you liked this one, i was pleased with it.

i know exactly what you mean with the rest of your comment too. it was an experiment and it does have some nice newish qualities.
i just need to bring it alltogether and discover the ultimate process for making my pictures

easier said than done - especially when it's this hot
