Acrylic on 16x20" / 40x50 cm stretched canvas.Plastic, metal, gems, crackle , gesso, modeling paste...
Every time I use pink and light blue colors together, I get a feeling that it's a childish combination.. and I do not mean anything negative by the word childish.. nice pastel baby colors.. To get away from that feeling I added all the black and in my opinion it added a lot of contrast and created a mixed feeling.

There are many different crackle mediums, in this specific piece I used Kroma crackle [link]

Compositionally this is the most developed. It's good that you are being aware of the cultural connotations of color.

It's interesting to study how color meanings and interpretations change for example in Asia compared to the west, etc.

And yes, you are right, it is very interesting how color's meaning changes within different cultures.. even more interesting are the reasons behind it.
I had french classes in school but I hardly remember anything.. and since I wasn't born in Canada, in fact I'm here only 1 year so far, I wasn't exposed to it at all.

Well I don't think so. I used to get a lot of hate comments saying everything I did looked a like when I first started and it was a good thing for me to try new things which I did but I think I still have that look that people who know me could tell its me. I do try and fool them though lol.
