uhmmmm since people are asking...these 2 are hades and persephone, just prior to him abducting her. (thats' why he's staring like that)
i don't know if i'll finish up the pic... this roughwork thingy seems to be growing into a new style. i think i'll go back and fix his cloak though... it looks funny.

A good combination of theme and setting, you had the theme from ancient Greece of Hades and Persephone placed in a setting of a medieval fairy fantasy. The composition is also very subtle in the meeting between the two characters, which is different to the original story but fits very well.Β Β

isn't Persephone the lady who lived underground for like forever and ate pomegranate seeds?

Yeah, basically.Β Hades abducted her; she ate 6 seeds while in his realm.Β Her mother, Demeter, goddess of the harvest, went on a journey to find Persephone.Β By the time mom found her, the goddess of spring had already eaten the seeds.Β Because of that, Persephone stays in the land of the dead for 6 months a year, and we have the 4 seasons.

Don't forget, after the deal was made, Hades and Persephone became very loving towards one another; Hades hated seeing Persephone sad and did his very best to make her happy, while Persephone took her role as queen of the underworld very seriously and helped her husband in all endeavors while she was present.
