Hey Stu,

As always, great stuff! I really dig the improvements and your interiors are getting to where it's hard to tell if it's real or CG. Keep up the great work! I think the noise really does give it more of an "analog" feel though.

Coolio. Will do. Mind having a look at the new Ivan and letting me know what you think? I still have to work on the rigging aspect of him and animation, not to mention the UV mapping. I did the texture work in photoshop since the UV skills are lacking.

ttyl.

I agree with Majora28. sometimes Noise is needed. and this has a DAMN nice realistic look to it!
Granted tho, the noise is a TAD to much... Cant wait to see a re-render .

Damn you! Quad core... I was SOOO close to buying one, but I didnt have enough. I did however get a nice Dual Core.

Not much into Maxell though. I tired it a bit, but it seamed like to much work, and extra settings.

What does it have over the Default Cinema 4D render engen, with the Advanced Render Modual?

Looks awesome. I love the DoF. Very realistic. Man, I have so much respect for you!!

Btw, maybe try a normal bitmap noise reduction software like Noise Ninja instead of rendering with amped up settings. Might save you time.

Thanks man,

Instead of noise reduction, I may re-render it tonight for a few more hours

uhmm..just a question? are you experementing on the maxwell?? i just have the thought that maxwell produce lots of noise.. so, what benefits does it have..??

Maxwell renders images on a time curve, he rendered this one for 8 hours and this was the result. Had he let it render for say, 24, then the noise would have been much more reduced. And for say, three days (72 hours) it would most certainly be completely noiseless.

Great work on the scene setup, too! It looks amazing...

oh my... 3 days?? i guess maxwell isn't production friendly. so my question goes further down to why use maxwell??? what's the advantage..?

JaredTheDragon In reply to ercrap [2007-07-23 14:17:02 +0000 UTC]

An overnight render isn't exactly production unfriendly, since for years we've been dealing with this anyway. Maxwell's still a young renderer, and does produce nice results, and as CPU speeds increase it will become more efficient.

8 hours x 4 cores, is the equivalent of 36 hours, really, the noise should have already gone
