- Following people (yes, he's a creep like that LOL). He follows them so that he can mimic their actions, trying to fit into the human world.
- Handling Knives (or daggers or anything small - he cannot hold the ones that are too big because his hands have barely any grip), he uses them to repair himself or carve out new wooden parts.

History: Durante was created by a puppeteer who had been commissioned by a nobleman. The nobleman's son, whose name was durante, had died due to a fatal disease and his father immediately became hysterical. He went to the famous puppeteer who was known for being able to reincarnate souls of the dead and asked if a life sized doll in the image of his son could be created for him. The puppeteer at first refused; He had never created a successful doll that was capable of possessing a soul before, however after being constantly harassed by the nobleman, he immediately set to work.

He traveled and experimented with different materials, from the fragile porcelain to sturdy metals. At last, he discovered that wood was the best choice. After many failures he finally succeeded in creating a life sized puppet.

When he had finished building, he inserted the soul of the nobleman's son into the puppet. unsatisfied, Durante's soul would escape. nothing seemed to make the soul happy, and at last the puppeteer's patience was used up. He forcefully trapped Durante's soul into the puppet.

This proved to be a big mistake. The puppet immediately came to life, but it no longer possessed any of it's past memories except for it's name. By forcefully entrapping the soul, it had become warped. The puppet's image became the immediate opposite of the nobleman's son. The flowing blonde hair of the pale blue eyes where replaced with a sickly purple and vivid red. Durante no longer had any emotions and a gaping hole was formed in the spot where his heart was supposed to be.

The puppet's new appearance shocked the Puppeteer and he decided to keep it instead of give it to the nobleman. He became Durant's master for a few years to see if he this new puppet was a success or a failure. in the end, durante did not please him.

Upset by the disaster of this marionette, the puppeteer attempted to dissemble it and throw it into the river hoping to create another. Durante realized the puppeteer's plan and without further ado, killed the puppeteer for betraying him. Looking down at his bloodstained hands, he realized that he would never fit into the human society.

Personality: Due to the incident (when he was brought back) he doesn't have emotions any more. He speaks in a monotone almost all of the time and is constantly trying to fill up the gap on his chest, but when he puts wood in the hole, the wood eventually burns. He learned from a witch that the hole will only go away when he learns how to love again.

Likes (more like 'things that he finds interesting' -because he doesn't like anything): delicate and dainty things, watching people eat (because he can't eat, and finds it amazing that people can put that kind of stuff in themselves),

dislikes: Fire (because he's made of wood -u-), people who betray him,

Other:
- he is a failure at using magic
- He wants to become a human
- is a very good servant (xD) he is always looking for a master or a friend. After the puppeteer's death, he has been on the lookout for another master who won't die so easily.

Reasons for wanting to go to HA: He is not accepted into the human society (due to the fact that he is a walking puppet), and after learning that HA accepted all different kinds of students, no matter what species they were, he finally felt that he could fit in somewhere.
Also since the teachers and other students are unafraid of him (unlike the human society where they would freak out when they saw him), he finally felt that he could make friends and fill in the gaping hole on his chest (He wants to learn how to break the curse of being stuck inside a wooden body).

(and he's terrible at magic -u-)
