Chapter 1 : How He Got His Name

Sonic’s Past, Present and Future

*In Space Colony ARK Over Fifty Years Ago*

“Why Doom? Why? You’ve just killed our greatest experiment! Why would you do such a thing!?” yelled Professor Gerald Robotnik. “He was becoming to strong…..even I couldn’t handle him for too much longer!” “But did you have to kill him!?” “No…but he was going to be killed by that curse anyway” “You’re probably right” Gerald sits down in a chair and sighs. “You know Gerald….I think you should wipe out everyone’s memory of him…there’s no need for it…since he’s dead” “True…I’ll erase everyone’s memory tomorrow” “But ill keep mine” “What!? Why would you keep yours!?” “Because…you never know..”

*On Earth 13 Years Before Shadow was Released*

Rouge the bat was just 4 years old when she met her best friend…still to this day they are best friends…but never really show it. So now…back to the story!
It was a late September day and the sun was just beginning to set. There in the distance was a white fruit bat named Rouge the bat. She lived far away from the city but occasionally went there to visit her sister. She was always alone during the summers but school was starting soon so she was going to see her friends again. She sighs as she watches the horizon and watches the sky as if something was coming. Then out of the corner of her eye she saw a streak of light coming down. “Huh? What’s that?” She watched closely as the falling object got closer and closer and soon crashed into the earth. “Holy sh……cow!” She ran down and saw a giant crater. “O my god….whatever made this….is gonna make me rich!” She got dollar signs in her eyes and climbed down to the bottom of the crater and saw what appeared to be a hand. “Aw man…its not a comet!” She saw the hand move and jumped up into the sky. “Are...are you alive down there?” She quickly grabbed a stick and poked the arm and a blue hedgehog sat up and held his arm. “Ow…hey why’d you do that?” He looked at her and noticed she was frozen with shock. “O my…lord….how’d you survive that…fall…and crashing into Earth...like that?” Rouge asked with fear in her eyes. “Um….I don’t know...by the way….you know who I am?” As he pointed at himself. “No…no never seen you before in my life!” “O well uh….can you give me a name…because..I uh…don’t remember mine…heh heh.” A sweat gland formed on the side of his face as he rubbed the back of his neck with his hand. “Hmmmm….lets see….how fast are you? You look like a runner.” “Well lets find out.” He stands up, crawls out of the crater, and looks for a tree. “You see that tree over there?” He points to a tree far in the distance. “Yeah….why gonna run there and back?” “Yep!” He takes off leaving Rouge in a pile of dust* “Woah…he’s fast…” She watches as he runs back close to the speed of sound. “WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” He yells as he stops in front of her. “That was amazing!” Shouted Rouge as she looked at him up and down. “Wow…I like you already….hm… the perfect name for you….is…Sonic…Sonic the Hedgehog…how’s that?” “That’s perfect!” Said Sonic as he gives her one of his well known “today” smiles. She smiles and they both walk off back to her house just before the sun completely sets.
