It was a request and someone's special idea, so I tried to imagine it. 
Mmm It has to do something with bad post correspondence during the war, so Alex might have been lost for a day or two for the south batalions after some bloody fight somewhere so they could decide he was dead. And It took some days for him to return.

Well NO that is some what true and somewhat wrong.  I did some research and a lot of reading with every single book about hamilton I can get my hands on. What actually happened was that Hamilton was sent by General Washington on a mission with general lee and eight other men after the battle of Brandywine to burn down a mill on the schuylkill river so that it wouldn't fall into british hands while there they where there trying to burn it down they where suddenly ambushed by redcoats. while lee and 5 other men escaped on horseback hamilton and four others tried to escape by boat. while being fired at one man was shot and killed and hamilton and the other three dove under water and where swept up further downstream by the current which saved their lives. Lee witnessing the whole this saw then go under and when they didn't resurface the assumed the worse and reported back to Washington that the mission had failed and corneal hamilton had drowned. not long after the report was given hamilton and the other reached safety and hamilton wrote and delivered a note to congress telling them to flee before the british reach their destination. After that hamilton made his way back to headcourters when he showed up still soaking wet everyone started laughing and crying for the little lion (a nickname that hamilton was given.) was alive.

Well this is a request, not an illustration of real historical events. I also well know all their real story but this art isn't about true facts and special details just a wish of one my good fellow.
