Description The other picture. I know 6400 at noon... I changed presents and had 6400 on the other one, that sucked, but I realized to late.

Terrific work! I love the texture of the womans skin, suggesting a hard life and yet with it the wisdom this brings. There's an oiliness to this tone, like a polished piece of coal. Just beautiful. What I don't like - there;s a slight lack of contrast in her clothing on the left shoulder. This allows the eye to be drawn to the only real flaw in my opinion - the blurring along the right edge of the frame. It's a distraction that could be easily cloned out prior to submission but ne which reduces the impact that this lady undoubtedly brings. Otherwise this is a terrific shot.

This is undoubtely an awesome portrait. And the way you handled the B&W is just perfect !!

I, personnaly would have tried a square framing for this one, but it really is a matter of taste !!

Really well done !

Hmmm.. I'll admit that her expression was more "direct" in the other shot, this one certainly isn't bad, but it doesn't seem to capture as essential an image of "connection" as the other one. Yes, she doesn't look into the camera, and with the b/w conversion it's just not as convincing for once as the colour image was.

hahahaha, thank you, I think I'll stop being so "impartial" with my pictures. So I can have that connection.

thx mate

That really all depends on how you approach stuff, I'm just saying that in a portrait sense I liked the other one better than this here Being impartial doesn't necessarily mean it's bad!

I can see you got some noise there alright but this is way better than I imagined it would be!

I use a D300S, I seldom go above 800, I've had worse noise on shots at 1000 ISO

it's strange that the D300s is better at 6400 than at 1000ISO... dunno why, but still I prefer using the 100.

thank you.
