Lovely tone!

I really like the way you've conveyed the atmosphere and mood more through the tone and the colours. It's quite interesting how it feels as if there is a ... it feels like Autumn? Not quite Summer, but not quite Winter either. There is a good sense of warmth about it all and I find it interesting how you have framed things as well.

I feel that you could have positioned her in the centre, or... moved the camera higher... Have you heard of the rule of thirds?

I feel that her face could have been less tipped up there, or maybe you could have angled the camera different so that we get the nose and the mouth but no eyes, if that makes sense.

The lighting is lovely, anyway, and I like the softness produced from the shallow depth of field.

Do you usually shoot a lot of photos or just the one?

First off, thank you so much for the critique! I appreciate it.

I do know of the rule of thirds and I am a firm believer in it. It's sort of my best friend. Unfortunately, it's not quite applied here as much as it could be, as you've pointed out.

I also agree on your points about my posing. This was an experiment with my rickety Goodwill tripod and the self-timer on my camera. I do usually try to take multiple shots with the same idea/pose, especially when I'm using the self-timer. Unfortunately, with this shoot, I didn't take multiples of this particular pose because, frankly, it was hot outside and I was frustrated. Maybe I'll try to recreate it in the future when I have more patience and maybe a lower temperature outside.

Thanks again!

Ooh, awesome!

I know it myself, but I don't quite.. follow it, if that makes sense? Like it's not a conscious decision when I shoot. When I shoot, I just do what is natural for me sort of thing.

Ah, I see.

That's understandable.
