You know, I've never heard of what this is from before, but looking it up it appears to be a webcomic. Any chance of a first-hand explanation?
Regardless of the source, 'tis love work! I love the pastel-work! You got them way more smooth than when I used to use them (side note, AUGH! PASTELS MESS UP YOUR HANDS SO BAD!). The slightly hazy look that pastels give it makes the piece feel very dreamlike and almost idealized. "Too pretty to be real" almost.

Beyond the Western Deep is a fabulous webcomic written by two Redwall fans who set out to tell a more mature and nuanced story in a similar setting; the plot is just picking up, but I'd give it a read if I were you.
This was more pastel colors than actual pastels, but yes oh man, regular pastels get everywhere. ;_; But I found some awesome soft brushes on photoshop and a sweet color palette to expand off of, which made this really fun.

And hah. My mistake then. I thought you meant you used pastels the art supply for the picture. It still looks very good, though it explains why it doesn't have that pastel-y texture.
