Description
A tarot card for my "Dragon Age: Origins" character Sara Cousland: Queen of Ferelden, Warden-Commander, Alressa of Amaranthine, the list of her titles is long (and it's all canon!)

I chose the Empress because the meaning of the card fits well with Sara's character: she's caring, compassionate, motherly, protective of the persons and lands she's responsible for. By defeating the Fifth Blight and killing the Archdemon, she allowed the soil of Ferelden to remain fertile and its people to prosper (the wheat) but it had a heavy cost: the dead of three major heroes, King Cailan Theirin and the Grey Wardens Duncan and Riordan (the poppies).
Although she is wearing the crown of the Queen Consort of Ferelden (with two mabaris to symbolize the royalty and the female symbol of the Empress), she remains a Grey Warden at heart and won't trade her bow for the usual scepter of the ruler. Instead, she will follow the Grey Wardens motto of "In peace, vigilance" and, like the stone griffon of her order whose blood-red eye seems alive, will remain on watch - symbolically wearing her Grey Warden armor under her royal, fur-lined coat.
And she'll never forget the red rose her husband Alistair gave her when they were flirting!
