Okay. I admit it... I'm full-blown Wapanese Japanophile. I actually name a picture of a guitar with a semi-Japanese name. -_-This is a present for -kun... hopefully he'll like it? I know I really loved the lineart for this, but once I started coloring... I seriously need someone to color my pictures. I would degrade myself so much less often.
Or might that make me arrogant?
Anyway, I think most people would be able to guess what/who this is. If not, it can just be a pretty picture. Er, though the blue gloves (EDIT: I've made them silver... it's better now) really have nothing to do with it. I just needed to balance out the picture. I might take it out later. There are some other things I might want to add in as well... I was staring at my reference from across the room, with my eyes slightly hazed by the bright light of my monitor.

Just so I understand this, this is supposed to be a personification of a guitar, right?
If that's the case, I must say you did very well on it.
I myself am a huge fan of the idea of cartoon-personifications of things like inanimate objects, so when I see it not only attempted but also done right, I can't help but be impressed.
The only detail I’m not sure about is her gray little hair-tails (or whatever you girls call those). But that’s just the visual element; they’re great for representing the tuning-keys on the head-tip of a guitar.
Aside from that, absolutely everything else in this piece looks great.
Her pointed shoulder-tips and curved skirt-edge make her clothing reminiscent of the shape of a guitar. The orange red was also an excellent color to go with.
Guitar-strings and other details from the body of a guitar would normally be extremely hard to translate to clothing and keep them looking aesthetically pleasing and not mangled, but here you seem to have pulled it off wonderfully. The string portion doesn’t look out of place, and it fits well with the rest of the clothing.
The buttons on her skirt for the knobs fit excellently, as do her gray elbow-length gloves.
The purse was a nice touch, too. It reminds me of a guitar-strap. Oh, and the little purple pic she’s holding was a good addition as well.
Anyway, I gotta’ say this is an exceptionally well-done piece.
Let me ask you; is there any chance you’ll be trying any more personifications of objects in the near future. You pulled this one off so well, I’d love to see more works of a similar nature from you.
By the way, your coloring’s excellent. Don’t kick yourself over that part; I disagree, it came out lovely. And the gray gloves may not represent an actual part of the guitar, but they do balance out the picture. I’d keep them if I were you.

Wow-- I really appreciate such a detailed comment. I was thinking of drawing Gitaa-tan in the future (and for my own reasons I want to name her Elphie...), but recently I designed a few friends of hers (the Flying V wears pants... >.>
Also, the purse was meant to be the pickguard, though she doesn't always have that on...
I honestly loved translating the parts of the guitar into articles of clothing; if I can find any other object with a distinct style I'll be sure to try that as well.

As for the coloring, it's lovely. Very 80's. x33 Although, it's probably the shouldey pads sorta thing. Ironically, Japan is going through our 80's phase currently.
