Looks yummy!
Gonna ask my mom to do such a cake for my birthday.
How long did you have for this?

Sarenea In reply to Engeline [2009-05-01 20:13:57 +0000 UTC]
I don't remember how long it took... I bought a chocolate cake mix (I don't make cakes from scratch very well) and made a normal 9 by 13 inch cake. Then the back side had to be shaped by just cutting the corners in a piano-shape (after the cake had cooled, of course). Then I frosted it (store bought chocolate frosting), and used candy bar peices for the keys. The treble clef on the top was not in the pattern, but all it took to make was a tube of decorative black/gel frosting. I took a picture of a top view of the cake (It's a bit easier to see what the shape/cuts look like): [link]

oHH That looks yummy. ah...good enough to eat. Musically rich. I'm a chocoholic. Usually for each of my birthdays I bake a heart shaped cake cause it's the only bundt pan that I have. And I always make it chocolate with strawberries.

I love it!

Sarenea In reply to inspire-respire [2007-01-20 00:01:45 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! It's not that hard, actually. Make a normal rectangular cake, then the curve out from the back to make the piano shape. Use a rectangle from the section you just cut for the 'bench', then frost it! Use whatever you want for the keys, I used White Kit Kats and regular Hershey's chocolate bars.
