Description
Fou-Lu from Breath of Fire IV.Not done anything in a while, especially with my family expanding last month
Started this off as a random sketch testing out male anatomy and poses and ended up with this. threw a background on of my favourite dragon form in the game too.

Well, all things considered, the designs in BOFIV were pretty poor compared to the earlier parts, though while Ursola, Scias or Fou Lu were still pretty awesome despite the simplistic design, Ryu or Nina can't compare to their earlier incarnations in any way (especially the awesome BOF II versions), so yeah, as someone who played all the earlier games, the simplistic designs of BOFIV were anything but "well done" for me, not "bad" (and certainly not as impotent as the BOFV ones), but not yet as great as the earlier ones.

I thought this Nina was better than III's at least. I sure as heck didn't like those vestigial wings, ugh. And aside from design, Ryu could actually hunt this time... Hah, he could do it all! (I actually thought Ryu was the best in the first, with that freakin' long-ass hair and birthmark!)

I agree they're quite simplistic but they're effective and varied and give more room for the animations on the sprites. We don't talk about BOFV hahaha, I try to forget I ever played it

Well, wouldn't say that's teh case either... even BOF III had some very well designed charas, and they were better animated than the BOF IV ones to be honest... and even though Nina was pretty plain in both, the Ryu in BOF III was far better than the IV one. But still, if the game was "bad", I wouldn't play it, and I had spent my share of time with BOF IV ;3

I do have to admit that III's Ryu was pretty well designed. I spent far too much time on IV, levelling the village, training and fishing

Well, that's probably because BOF IV is a great game well worth your time ;3

Always thought this something mystically cool about this guy. Never really did get to play this one. Nevertheless, you've certainly done him (and this series) justice with this piece.

BOF IV is available on PSN, and so give it a try, it's one of the best parts (second only to BOFII IMO)
