I usually play through the Zelda games multiple times.
...though I have not finished the first and second Zelda games...

I don't play through games twice very often, I think I've done it only with Sapphire, as far as I can remember?
And a couple GameCube games when I didn't have a memory card XD
I feel I've done everything when I finished the story, so why would I go all over it again?

That is why I usually don't play through again for quite some time... I mean, the sad thing is you can never truly forget the game you played through, which sucks - I mean the unknown is what makes the game interesting!
Usually in my case, I might play it again immediately, say if I want to play through all the side quests the second time through, and if I really enjoyed playing and I had the motivation to play through again,
OR
If I have waited long enough to a point where I may have lost some of the familiarity of the story, what happens where, and perhaps some of the story (at least until I get up to it again, anyway).
If only there was a way to kinda forget what happened the first time... haha... otherwise I'd be playing BotW again.
I really want to play BotW through again, but at the same time it's not quite an adventure anymore...

It's like a book, right? I never reread books until recently and when I do I'd like to wait as long as possible so I can forget most of the story and experience it anew.
