Isn't complete...Still needa shade, but I wanted to upload it as is if I don't ever get the chance to shade it.
I also gotta fix a few perspective issues. e_e
Assignment for my Advanced Drawing for Animation class. We had to do a Film Noir scene, 1930's style, with five characters. The five characters needed to have distinct personalities.
And, of course, me being me, I went with roaches instead of humans. |D
My teacher was okay with it, though, lol.
Detective Blatella is the one by the window there...The rest don't have names, and Blatella doesn't have a first name. I don't think names matter much here, but I might keep these characters, so any input on names would be awesome.

You don't see many anthropomorphic bugs in general, specifically roaches which are often seen as pests. I'm glad you thought the concept was interesting. I try to keep it fresh.

I loooove this! Such a cool drawing and such neat characters! Everybody looks like they have quite the story behind them...I'd love to hear and see more about them! Bug anthros are awesome. Excellent level of detail too! I would bet that if you made the contrast higher, and made it closer to black and white instead of grayscale, it would REALLY hit the noir style!

I'm really glad they were! I was worried that a couple of them may seem to have personalities that were too similar, but I'm glad they're diverse enough.

I was going to ask you why you chose to do roaches, but then when I read what you wrote-- that makes total and perfect sense. I'm glad that you did! Making them roaches instead of human just adds for the ability to add that much more to your characters to make things look incredibly awesome. Plus! it makes the overall scene just that much interesting to look at!
Your teacher was only "okay" with it? Pffft! i think it's just divine!
