Melodramatically, Joey reached out after Alice as she hurried away... Then let his hand drop to his side. She was so outwardly innocent and fragile. He felt like he had tainted her with that kiss. He was so unpure, and she was so... Clean. And his desire to make her absolutely filthy bothered him.

So, for now, he just knocked on Pandora's door - where Lain was maybe napping, or just staring. Being avoidant. Whatever. There was no answer, no 'come in,' so grumbling - he left, without his protegé.

It wasn't hard for him to find someone stupid enough to follow him partway home. Because despite what he said earlier, people did think he was pretty... He just never paid any attention to their compliments. It was better for him to detach, to disassociate. People didn't get attached to cows for the same reason Joey didn't get attached to people. He knew how they were going to end up, even if they weren't aware.

The first cut was always the deepest. Across the chest, across the belly. He cut this boy like he wanted to cut Alice - but wouldn't. Slice, slice, slice. The little cuts weren't very deep, and he smiled as black-red blood rose to the surface. He hit the boy a few times, and choked him a little bit... But it wasn't the same. He wanted to hurt her so fucking badly. To make her heart race like she made his heart race.

Annoyed with himself, now, he jammed the knife into this random anonymous's throat, and left him there in that alleyway, to bleed out and be found in the morning. Another John Doe for the headlines. Entertainment for a bloodthirsty people.

Pocketing the little knife, Joey made his way home, up the stairs, into the apartment... And seated himself on the couch, as though he had never really left in the first place. He sighed, decidedly not feeling much better.
