Description
Imara did not expect to find herself between a wounded cub and it's attacker, but she could not simply stand by and ignore this cruelty.

Before this moment however, Imara had left Pride Rock early in the morning. The lioness walked along the path like every other morning, stretching out her legs and breathing in the fresh air. She then began her hunt, the target being a pheasant (her wife's favorite meat).

But as time went on it became apparent that the pheasants had moved on. Their scent had become nearly untraceable, and only a few molted feathers had been left behind. Imara decided to head back to Pride Rock as she noticed dark clouds forming in the distance.

A yelp suddenly caught her attention, then a raspy laugh. Curious, the lioness turned the corner of a rocky cavern and could hear what sounded like arguing. Soon an injured cub could be seen being picked on by an older lion.

"You are worthless! You are a disgrace to the family!" The Lion spit at the cub, swiping at him with every insult.

"I am worthless...." The cub repeated, barely able to stand. "I am a disgr--" Before he could finish he was met with another backhand, causing him to fall back several feet.

Unable to watch such disgusting behavior, Imara runs to defend the cub. Stopping to stand between, she turns and roars at the lion, who scoffs at her intimidation attempt.

"I will not let you lay another claw on him." She hissed.

She looked back at the cub to ensure his safety with her, but was confused by this expression. He almost seemed annoyed that she stepped in. Then without warning rain began to fall and thunder boomed over the land. The cub then took off leaving both lions at a stand still.

"Keep him! I was going to kill him....but I guess you can have him." The dark lion decided as he began to walk the opposite direction.

He then kicked up mud as a way to wipe himself clean of his responsibility. Imara growled at the lion as mud fell on her but soon began to follow the tracks of the white cub.
