Description too lazy to shade... My characters are getting more and more shojoish everyday. I've become into something I said I despised... lol

Anyways do you guys have some tips for scanning pictures. Should I ink it before I scanned it or should I ink it on the computer? How do I ink it on the computer? lol Oh yeah, and what's the fastest way to put your base colors? Too many questions.... lol

i love that old-like style the coloring gives~!! and, the *fwwwoooosh* the jacket brings! *stares at the peace sign* ZIPPER~!! X3!

(i have no clue why, but i have this weird feeling that the peace sign is actually some shadow bunny. and it's gonna hop up and down. 8U.)

lol, i see tutorials about cleaning scanned lineart on photoshop. They make cleaning so easier looking. : D (too bad i never can use them, so i never pay much attention to it. T^T)

I ink it on the computer with photoshop, going line by line on a new layer and erasing the lines i don't want.

I don't think it's the best way to do it, my linearts are pretty messy, but colouring the lineart always helps me to hide the imperfections

But they way it you did it here looks cool to me. It's messy but it looks awesome

To put the base colours is pretty annoying the way i do it. I just put them randomly and erase what goes out of the area i want to colour

I suck at tips, i shouldn't have answered

Anyway, this is one of the best drawings you've done so far. You keep on improving The pose is and angle are interesting and different from what you usually do. But we still see your style. And by the way i don't think it's very shoujoish, he looks like a pretty boy, but i doesn't have annoying shiney eyes

Thanks for the advice! ^^ I want to hear from u cause you're such a great artist. Yeah, I'm really bad at angles, so that's something I'm try to practice. He really looked like a pretty boy to me. I was going to draw the shiny eyes, but I decided not to. However, I am planning on having a pic where the Naruto characters are shojo. Yay!!! I'm improving!!! I have a style? Woah.. I never really realized it.. lol

I always ink it on my comp, but that's because I'm afraid to mess up on the actual drawing...

If you draw light, you could scan it and put it in paint, then outline in the darkest black. Then you save it as a "monochrome bitmap" and it should be pure black and white. You need to copy/paste it in to another program or a color format of Paint to color it though... That's what I used for my Valentine's Day pic.

Does Photoshop have layers? If it does, you could just put the scanned pic on the bottom layer and trace over it, then delete the drawing layer, leaving the outline behind... I did that for my New Year's pic, but now I don't have the program I used anymore...

Those are the only methods I know...(yeah they suck...) They sometimes take a while, but it takes less than my OLD method (the old one was stupid XD).

_ Long post...

Great pic by the way! I like how you did the hand! (I can't do hands..XD)

Yeah!! I'm scared of messing up the original too! Thanks for the advice! Ueah, they do take a long time. That's why I wanted to know the different ways people do their lineart. Yay!!!I like long posts. Most of the post are long on this pic since I asked those questions. I like the hand too! I have no idea how I did them. lol I suck at hands too, they're a pain to draw.

You've gotten better.

You can do it many ways but basically:

1) Ink it before you put it on the computer--- saves some good time and you can immediately transperencize it XD

2) To ink it on the computer, you can scan it and go under photoshop and set "Auto Levels" under the IMAGE option I think. If you want even more control, choose "Levels"to select your darkness preferably.

3) If your picture is dark enough, take it to Illustrator to professionally transpernzize it and "Ink" it correctly to CG it ^____^;; you can also do interesting CGs in Illustrator but Photoshop is much more easier I think (different interfaces)~ but I don't know

XD That's all I know for now

Woah.. That's a lot of things to know... lol Yay!!! I've gotten better! I want to work on a pic that has a lot of detail and stuff, but I'm so lazy. I want to practice drawing perspective and background. And practice coloring of course. Why I'm I so lazy!!??? lol I'm cursed!!!!!
