interesting image. not too sure what i think of it. the lighting is nice but the angle is very straight on and 'regular'. it is still a good picture though. i have one question, what is he holding?

Sterile, scientific, a bit alien and... yes, rather uncomfortable.

Grand lighting. I really like the fact that you skip the post processing cliches that most photographers here on DA that are working with the human body are stuck in.

I would have liked a little more space to the sides and perhaps a little less on the top, say a 4x5 format.

I think this is very good Dr Agon and I am guilty of suggesting it as a DD.

Hah, Octavus!

I am REALLY honoured, really.
Thank you very much, very much.

I don't judge you for being guilty in that, really.....

Anyway: your comment is also worth a lot.

.
others may have cited the symmetry in this piece as impressive, yet i beg to differ: i think it's boring, non-dynamic, and stiff. but of course, you can tell me that such effect is intentional, and i too, can write-up some sort of witty explanation on how such stiff symmetry exemplifies the concept you present, that indifference stems from ignorance. and of course, the title would be different if not for the evident symmetry. hehe, i still don't like it.

despite my little complaint about the balance, this, i must say, is my favorite so far from what you've posted of the "miles series", and it's not just because he's shirtless, hehe.

the eyes are powerful; and their visibility or non- in a photograph dramatically colors the tone of a piece. here, it works so well to strategically place the device to hide his eyes - such move not only demonstrates the metaphor this art conveys, but it also refrains us being drawn to solely to his eyes as a focus in this piece.

the lighting is undeniably brilliant, so is the juxtaposition of the bare paleness of of his skin (which we will see more of, right? hehe) with the metalic coating of the device.

wonderful, wonderful job andras!

Yet again a refined and valuable comment from gaston.

Thank you very much.
As for symmetry: yes, of course, it is stiff and boring, but these are experiments, and this impersonal and non-natural posture was the subject of the present image, so why shouldn't it be? Still: I like the fact that in spite of his apparent symmetry in posture, his body (as all human bodies) shows a slight asymmetry that injects some delightful dynamism in it, hmmm?

what is he holding?

saturninus In reply to pinkribbonscar [2005-02-25 22:01:25 +0000 UTC]

It was trickier than it looks to take this.....

Hmmm.... I think I won't tell you what is he holding. Maybe later. The others cannot guess if I tell right at the beginning.....
No offence, I hope....... I will reveal the secret in time.

Thank you very much!

its always trickier than it looks, when it looks simple.
i totally understand, actually its more fun guessing what he holds than actually knowing what he holds, so: thank you for not telling me.
