Please update for gnome 3.8! This is the only theme which fits perfectly together with my gtk- and icon theme, so I can hardly await an update for my up-to-date gnome installation..
Can I expect it to be updated the next time, or should I switch to another theme instead?
thanks in advance

You can use Elegance Colors instead [link] , though I'll update this soon

Hmm... It shouldn't be. Can you run "elegance-colors start" in a terminal and see if the theme reloads too quickly?

Hmm... If you reduce the transition duration, does it make any difference?
I'm not willing to update any other themes except Elegance Colors since it is a lot of work, and Elegance Colors already provides the same look with more features.

Best theme I've seen for shell. All the other themes always seem to have something weird that really bugs me but this is perfect!

Does this work with Ubuntu with unity by any chance?

I had an issue with border-bottom-width - that 1px space between maximized window and top panel is a out of place and if wallpaper is not solid color in that area it gives strange effect of a little curvaceous line Oo
Fixed it by changing value in gnome-shell.css.

Go to '/usr/share/themes/Elegance/gnome-shell' and edit gnome-shell.css and change value in line 'border-bottom-width' to 0px (instead of 1px).

I prefered it when there was no program icon displayed on the panel. Is it possible in shell 3.6?

Try Elegance Colors. I forgot to remove the icon while updating and will update another version though.

GDM doesn't support user themes.

The only problem I see (still on 3.4-have not checked if it persists on 3.6) is that on the calendar when a date has something scheduled it should show differently than the others, while it does not. Otherwise perfect, thanks!

Ok some suggestion, the little dialog when changing volume still looks as the default gnome-shell theme, the same with the root dialog (to enter yous password for installing and formating stuff) doesn't match the whole theme, for example, when switching the computer off, that dialog has one grey buttons and others black, but not the password dialog. Other thing is the rhythmbox control showed in the new botton bar has always the button 'forward' enabled and looks awfull.

"the little dialog when changing volume still looks as the default gnome-shell theme"
hmm... it doesn't support much customization except changing color. I don't have any idea how can I improve it, since Elegance is actually a neutral theme with no colors.
About the password dialog and other dialog, the grey buttons are the focused ones. I have to make the focused buttons and entries distinct from others, so if you have any suggestions, then it is welcome.

By the way, could you please give me the link to the new texture to make it be showed as a background on the overview? Thanks!

satya164 In reply to esmirlin [2012-09-28 17:47:52 +0000 UTC]
The texture is in the theme package itself. It is named "noise-texture.png". To use it as a background in overview, you can use the following code,
#overview {
background: #333 url(noise-texture.png);
background-repeat: repeat;
}
Or if you would prefer a transparent overview,
#overview {
background: url(noise-texture.png);
background-repeat: repeat;
}
You can use any color in place of #333 though.
