Ooh! I used to do the exact same thing~
I think pictures turn out better when that method is used.
Because you can imagine an eye clear as day; so it comes out that way.
I find that I don't know much about posses, nad when I don't start with the eye; the rest of the image suffers...

Have you seen what tali looks like?
That might help you to get her started.
