Description A watercolor balancing a focus on form with a simple, yet intense background. I botched the gun a little, but the piece seems to be a favorite within my current collection. Let me know what you think.

awesome, though may i ask why you chose a slightly purple wash for the right side? the shade seems too... pretty (?) to go with the rest of the theme.

More like Max Payne than The Matrix to me. Very graphic, tough piece in both subject matter and contrast. The mysterious narrative of the lack of a visible enemy is heightened by the fact that you can't see the figure's face. Nice framing too.

Very kind and interseting words, it's been a while since I looked at this piece, happy to see it still warrants some attention. As for the Payne reference, thank you, I take that as a complement. Thank you also for the insights, they are flattering and gave me the chance to take another look into the piece. Sorry for the late comment, working on getting through my message centre...

technically this piece is great. but I feel the motive is sorta weak how technically superb it might be. might do with some more contrast in the background and just a slight hint on an background for that matter. or just something more... some small detail that draws the eye. the whole thing looks good so don't get offended please.

None taken... I never mind constructive criticism... without it we never grow... looking back at this piece, I have my own qualms with it as well, like you say it could have been taken further... "Some small detail that draws the eye" Any suggestions? I leave a piece the way it is when it's done, but suggestions for a similar future piece would be nice Glad you liked it overall.

I'd make something simple that stands out a tiny bit in the darkness at the bottom of his coat. nothing typical. mostly I'm just thinking about how mignola does tool belts and all the stuff that hangs on hellboys tool belt at times.
yeah sure. send me a comment or so if you want any crit mate I'll happily deliver to someone who gets it and such.

Thanks to all for your praise and comments. Oddly, (or perhaps not) people are always reminded of the matrix in this pic, heh. I think the trench, the baldness, and the gun. I agreed that the forarm is missing some form where it connects to the biscep. I didn't see this until now, though, so thanks for poining it out *kicks self in face* Anyways, I'm glad you all like it, and will post more soon, thanks for looking, and I'm glad you like!

that is awesome, i really like his jacket...and the whole feel of the image. it's pretty grimy which i think is cool. if i were to be picky, i would say it could do with some more movement, it looks pretty stock still, and considering the main object...i dunno just perhaps more livelyness. also in my pickyness i dunno why but i think there's something up with his wrist...the shape of his fore-arm perhaps? i hope this helps. other than that, this pic is great.
