I felt like doing something different... and I still can't water... or fish...

Rite of Merit for Nachi & maiise 's Ares finally done, sorry I took so long >_>

Natchik stood on the edge of the ice and peered into the darkness of the water below. Salmon swam there, she watched their twisting motion with keen eyes. Their bodies bright red and easy to see – these were the late individuals, straggling behind those that had come earlier in the season. The lake had not yet finished freezing, leaving a wide channel snake through its centre. It would make the fishing much easier than trying to get them through a tiny hole in the ice.

At a signal from her mistress Nachi dove into the icy water. It didn’t really bother her, the movement of her muscles chasing away the chill. The spotted tokota she had spent the last two events with joined her and together they swam up and down the open water, diving when they spotted a fish below and bringing it to the surface to drop in the bucket as instructed. Nachi couldn’t understand why she was being denied a snack but hoped that when her task was done she would be rewarded. Motivated by the promise of a fish later on she doubled her efforts at snatching the salmon from the water as they tried to escape the hunters’ jaws.
