God I loved doing these so much
And I love having a great reason to draw sumu (which is the OC I did this with)
And I hope you check out the artist I attempted styles.
I'll go into brief detail about my thoughts while doing these styles.

From left to right and top to bottom we have

His style is particularly interesting to pull off for me specifically because I use medibang on my phone, instead of Paint sai, so I had to replicate the brush without the brush. This would be an issue with all four pieces but this went the most successful. I feel like this one I did the best on in replicating in all aspects.
(I actually made sumu for their contest so this makes me really happy to do)

This style was probably the most simple for me since I draw a lot of inspiration from them in the way I do my shading and lineart in my own work. I wish Id put more work into the shading, in retrospect. She tends to have a really nice vibrant cell shading style that's hard to pull off without a multiply options to merge the colors successfully.

When I started this challenge, I honestly thought she had a very bad case of same face, and in that, she drew everything the same way, with the same methods every time, but its a lot more complex than that. I really misjudged her before I went in and tried it, ^^ I really appreciate the intricacies of her style.

So... word of advice... if you don't know how to paint digitally... heh don't think you're going to accurately portray an artist style who paints.
But anyway, I looovvveee kitsunes work, and I loved attempting this. I don't have many thoughts on my process or anything, just that I loved the way it turned out, but think it looks the least like any of the artist styles.

Extra thoughts:
I doubt anyone will read this, but I'm very picky about the way style challenges are done, and this made it really fun and motivating doing this how I think style challenges should be done (I'm not dissing people who do this its just a pet peeve)
But style challenges should be just that, challenges.
I approached this knowing I didn't just want to flat color picked straight from the reference or use the same pen for everything, or just use a chibi style for everything.
I made sure not to reference just one of these artist pieces, id use a minimum of 3 refs and made sure to continuously look at their art through the pieces. I looked for common motifs and similarities especially for the styles I pursued.
