Awesomeness. Really liking the flames, glowing eyes and the smoke coming out from the nostrils. Nice posing, too! Very interesting reading through the history for them, too; them being altered as a means to deal with another group of beasts is a pretty cool background.

I love the way you adapted them into the story. It's awesome that they aren't man-eaters per se, just carnivorous - but the best part is that they are the ONLY thing that can take on the Stymphalian Birds... AND EAT THEM! (Nemeon probably barfed out the birds' innards after he ate a few, lol) Now if only someone taught 'em how to bake cupcakes out of the birds' innards...

Thank you very much, WFR! Glad you like how they worked in-I figured the only thing that could eat the Birds was either the Birds themselves indulging in a bit of cannibalism (and really, they would do that) or something else that could eat anything they liked.

Well, that answers so many questions. Cannibalism, as far as I'm concerned, isn't going to put a nasty dent in the population, since the birds are probably so fertile that they'd end up repopulating anyway. It's good to know that for once, there's something that can finally put the ecosystem into balance again, assuming they can get all the way to Cuba... somehow.

Thank you very kindly, Ren! That tail took for-bleeding-ever, so I'm glad it looks good.

I figured that with the Birds loose and smelling everywhere, the Mares would be less than interested in anything else, so those two seeing them emerge would be better than trying to shoehorn in the main group while they're off elsewhere.
