Bit of a silly idea. "Modern" themed shooter games now will give you the occasional option for some 100+ year old rifle/shotgun in the game as a novel weapon to use.

So, I went with the idea of a Mk18 inspired rifle (hence M18) which would be considered "vintage" a few hundred years in the future. The only difference here is it is built with improved materials and production methods of the Halo era and comes with the FCS and 6.66mm rounds of my "re-imagined" MA5 rifle.

The FCS, magazine and foregrip required some modification to fit the older 1913 Picatinny rail system. Otherwise, same high-tech functionality in the FCS and a small-ish medium round with 7.62+ performance in a carbine sized rifle.

Fires in semi and auto with an adjustable gas block to go along with the easy QD suppressor which can be seen attached. I might try some other "vintage" weapons in here at some point. Figure some UNSC personnel, especially SOF types (even a UNSC SOCOM engraving on right side of weapon) would have the flexibility to use the weapons they want to, regardless of standard issue.
