I love this composition and I still think the BG is overexposed, which is strange, because the "Sunny f-16" rule stipulates that on a sunny day the correct exposure would be 1/(ISO speed) at f-16 - giving you 1/100 - I don't think the flash was that strong.
I think the best time of day to shoot this would have been with the sun at the side and flash providing main exposure!

i really like this, the composition works really nicely with everything being centred down the middle and the clothes and colours make it seem retro. lovely!
