"Should I stay or should I go, now?"
My mom loves animals with patterns on them and so do I. You art just keeps improving and the radiation of its "AWE" is remarkable.

I don't remember what she said verbatim, but it was something about God creating the patterns on the animals and because of his infinite wisdom, he made them in a way where neither one of them are identical to the other. The was also something else she said, but I don't remember (she made it sound more profound). It's been a while since she said it to me. I'm always reminded of this whenever I look at all tiger, cheetah, and zebra sculptures and paintings that she has everywhere. But I think I need some directions because I haven't found the funny way, yet.
You're very welcome!

Wow, I'm still facinated by your ability to create detail that is totally believable. And forget about the fur, the eye is not plain, you created substance in it so that it isn't an image of an eye but rather IS an eye.

I actually added more highlighting in the eye than there was in the image that I was working from; without it, it looked too flat to me. It's difficult to get a sense of roundness, that this is not a perfectly flat coin of color. That's why I did it; for practice.

Well then I'm very sure that you know a thing or two more about practice than most. This sort of thing is something that I have to remember to do myself. And I agree about showing roundness, to show that something is spherical can be quite difficult.

I think I'm finally working to my potential on things like this, though there are a few issues with the initial layout and positioning. I practice realism because if I can figure out how things work, eventually I'll be able to work just as convincingly without a reference, which is my ultimate goal.

Oh I see. Taking in as much of reality as you can so that you can create your own the way you want it. Makes sense to me.

I'm glad it makes sense to somebody, then.

I really don't see how it could be complicated. I mean come on you explained it clearly and it's the way I learned some of what I know as well.

I suppose it's just outside of the way some people understand things.

Low opacity? This will sound noobish, but I've never understood how to do that. Could you explain?
The eye just looks so smooth, it's incredible.
Yes, I love it! No problem!
