Oh, very nice!  So much work, but that is one of those details that puts just that something extra special into a cosplay outfit.
And I hadn't thought about it, but that band probably would be beaded.

is it possible to buy this or another one from you

I'm incredibly flattered that you are intrested in buying one of my pieces. I didn't make with the intention of selling it, so I didn't put much thought into what I would charge or keep track of my cost of supplies. I'm not sure what an accurate estament of the price would be, but I do know that it would probably be more than someone would be willing to pay. The reason for this is not because it is so expensive to make but just incredibly time consuming (It takes over 50 hours to make one of them). It isn't even difficult to make, I could probably walk a beginner through the steps and give them a supply list if they wanted to make one themselves. I'm almost embarrassed to type this but if I was to make another one I would have to charge $500 dollars just to make it worth my time.

Oh gosh, you actually made it with beading! I've been wanting to see someone do that since I saw Korra's design in the previews Great work. I also like your leather bracers. I know fabric and fun foam can work too - but IMO nothing beats leather bracers and a beaded armband.

Thanks. That was the first time I worked with leather and I love how easy it is to work with. The beading took forever to do but was worth it. Makes the costume look less like a costume and more authentic.

I basically $5 walmart'ed my Korra cosplay (I had less than a week to scrap up a cosplay XD) I love the detail in the arm band.
My trouble was the collared shirt, how did you make the shirt if you don't mind me asking?

Nothing wrong with $5 walmarting a costume. Been there, done that. They can look quite nice. I used Buttericks pattern # B4399. With some slight alterations to the origional design it worked quite well. The fabric was the hard part I ended up having to dye all of it to match. I wanted to shoot myself by the end of it. Don't recommend doing that. But anyways, hope that helps and thanks for the complement. Are your pictures of your costume up on DA, I'd love to see what you did.

I also dyed my t-shirt because I didn't really like the blues it came in, and used the sleeves as the trim since I removed them from the shirt before dying. So you altered the pattern? Ok, I can try that
I just came back from the conventions, my cousins have the pictures, when they facebook them, I'll post them up here.
I plan on re-doing most of it now that I have a better understanding of her costume after wearing it and the pattern. Thought I maay(will) keep the pants I got from walmart, just alter the hips because it was actually very big. XD
Thanks again! I really appreciate it.

how did you do that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ScissorWizardCosplay In reply to Twinsmanns [2012-05-08 04:01:16 +0000 UTC]

A lot of patiens mostly. It's not hard to make just time consuming. Basicly I sort of made up a pattern and sewed row after row of beads until I got sick at looking at them. lol
