Description One of the series of the photo shoot taken at the Leuchars Air Show on the 9th of September 2006.

Showing the RAF's Red Arrows Display team in action during their display time.

The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team currently based at RAF Scrampton are for the second year running under the command of Squadron Leader Dicky Patounas who is in charge of a squadron of over 100 personnel. This year the pilots represent all 4 of the RAF's frontline fast jet squadrons in a team that reached 4000 displays at the Leuchars Air Show.

Awesome, out of all the ones in color, this one is most certainly my favorite. The angle you captured them at and the clouds behind their clouds of smoke make for a great touch.

Thank you and it was pot luck with the angle of the team in the sky but luckily i was at the right spot to get this shot, as further along and the cloud wouldn't have been in the right spot. As on the day that cloud was about it for any sky detail so made the most of it

The hardest part is the panning to capture the plane with the camera, as i did have a few sky shots with nothing in frame. This was the first time though i had done any panning of any sort and it turned out well.

The settings i used basically were 1/250 for the propeller and helicopters to 1/1250 1/2500 for some of the jet depending on the planes being displayed. Also manual focus and the lens set to focus to infinity as otherwise the lens wouldn't be able to keep focusing due to the high speeds.
