The amount of people saying stuff like "Its just a style xd lawl" in the comments is hilarious
if it's drawn wrong its drawn wrong
its a thing called anatomy, its like swapping a human eye for a cat eye on a pure human.
If its not a hybrid or anything, it should have the key features.

Yall, being anatomically wrong isn't a style. You don't draw goats; You draw hybrids. Having a dIfFeReNt sTyLe doesn't excuse the fact you can't draw goats that are actually goats.Β

I blame the obsession over Disney artstyle.
OK, you can like that style, but it gets oversaturated...

Thankfully , I've seen refreshing styles .

For some reason, I've always been drawn into semi realistic way...

features from the "no goat" could just be someone's art style tho..

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 3

AnonymousEgg In reply to stale-cupcake [2018-07-30 15:23:12 +0000 UTC]

Actually they wouldn't. Go look up a picture of a goat, they don't have ram horns. That's like me making a life drawing, but the hands are cat paws, but I'm saying "its a full on human, its just my style"
No, no it isn't. Being completely incorrect is not an art style. Putting a dog nose on a goat when nothing else but dogs have dog noses in your art is not a "style", it's simply drawing it wrong. Putting ram horns on a goat is not a "style", it's drawing a goat the wrong way.
Saying a mistake in your art is just a "style choice" won't help you improve.
I think you're just butthurt

imge1608 In reply to stale-cupcake [2018-02-06 21:17:10 +0000 UTC]

Well of course art style changes a lot of things. Like if you want to make your own o.c. you can make it like "no goat" side and if you like it you could keep draw it. But if you want to improve your art style you have to out of your comfort zone and try to draw more realistic goat. You can't always stick up to that art style. If draw a neck too long or draw an arm too short and say "but this is my art style" won't get you nowhere.

stale-cupcake In reply to imge1608 [2018-02-08 16:17:55 +0000 UTC]

people are allowed to have art styles as unique and different as they want. that's the whole point of an art style!

your art style is what makes you stand out and what makes people remember you. i don't know about you but i'd rather get popular for a style with small legs than get popular for being "realistic" or just following some style that's really known and unoriginal like the "emo dog" style.. because i'd rather be getting loved for my original ideas rather than copying some art style everyone is doing just because it's "cool" or "anatomically correct".

well, if i were to get "popular". even not, just 1 or 2 people appreciating my art would be enough for me!

the point is, take a look a sleepykinq for example. is his style at all anatomically correct?? hell no! the legs are super boxy and wide, the body is super slim, the feet have pointed ends and the head is either super boxy or just completely crazy. but do any of his fans give any fucks? .. no lol because it looks good anyway.

then there's the anime art style, the eyes are fucking huge. are our eyes huge? is anyone's eyes huge? no but fans of anime don't give any fucks because those eyes is what anime is known for. like when you think anime you think the eyes, correct? aka the art style.

art styles really leave an impact on the people who see them, if they are crazy unique and anatomically correct!
i love love love seeing people not following any anatomically correct rules, on purpose and showing that it doesn't matter because if you can be unique and make it look good no one will care.

AnonymousEgg In reply to stale-cupcake [2018-07-30 15:29:11 +0000 UTC]

A couple things

A. you can't copy an art style. There are too many factors that go into it, and they cannot be copyrighted. Drawing in the Disney style does not mean you're stealing from Disney.
B. Sleepykinq's style is a style because it's consistent. It is consistent across his characters. They all have that same style to them. Mystery is very tall, but he still looks correct because both his legs are long. All of his characters have the same style, you don't see random anatomy issues. Something is an art style when its repeated across many artworks, and across many characters/figures.Β
C. So because of that, a random "goat" with no goat features is not a style, it's just drawing it wrong.
D. You should really study realistic anatomy before you try to build a style. If you simply try to take incorrect anatomy and call it a style, you'll never improve. Know the rules to break them. Know how anatomy works before you build a consistent style.

imge1608 In reply to stale-cupcake [2018-02-08 18:24:43 +0000 UTC]

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying you always do realistic art. I know about sleepykinq. But I want to remind you that he changed his art style and he changed it in a good way.

For an example his character mystery who should have a creepy look didn't look creepy at all. Whenever he drew his character they were like all the same. You know like , big hands, same body type, round eyes etc. All of them was the same and people didn't find mystery spooky. His look didn't match with his character. People even called him hot which he shouldn't be! Until he changed his art style. He give him a more skinny , creepy look which made his style improved.

Now think about it. What if he never changed his style? He could have just say "no, I can't made him look like that that's my art style. Round eyes, body type ,arms and legs." I'm not saying people shouldn't made their style completly realastic. But if you stick up to your art style you can't improve. I changed my art style many times to find to most suitable one for me. I draw eyes bigger then avarage but when I draw an character with slant eye I try to draw them more like that. Still keeping my art style and make it better and different.

Beside I never said you should be more realistic to be more popular or not to be unique. Just to improve your art.

like for example, one of my friends has a style with round eyes and round pupils,
he's drawn goats before with round eyes and round pupils
that doesn't make it wrong.. or bad.. it's just his art style..

then there's a website called goatlings
the goats on goatlings all look like goats
and they have some of the "no goat" features
all the goats were drawn by someone named krisgoat, it's her art style.
goatlings.wikia.com/wiki/Appea…

so i don't agree. no matter how you word it, or put it.

sorry.
