I was out for my usual walk down the shore the other day and managed to snag this shot. I can never seem to get close at all to the seagulls or other birds that frequent the cliff edges & shore. They are very weary of humans. The ones at the dump, however, won't even get out of your way if you are heading right for them. I guess they are far more acustomed to human presence being that they live in a landfill and all. The backdrop for photographing the dump birds isn't as nice though and I don't think I would want to crawl around on the ground there to get my shots. Thanks for viewing.Photoshop:
Vignette filter, Sepia toned, Copied layer with gaussian blur applied & set to soft light mode. Some dodging/burning. etc.

Very nice. Living on the beach, I love this shot. As for the birds issue, you should come to Dominion beach. They will not move. You might even get to see a seal here.

I really love this shot. I am a bird lover too. It is even better than the sitting bird with its wings floded on to the body. This is great!!! Looking forward to more great work

amazing shot!!!! the focus is spot on and the depth of field is brilliant...what can i say? this shot is just a great example of how to combine techniques to get a great result.....!!!
