The Iron Giant is one of those things that's so important to me as an individual, that it fucking kills me inside every time I see the Giant show up in other pieces of media. When I found out he was in Ready Player One I just rolled my eyes, but I'm not one of those people that decries him being there at all just to be used as a weapon when that was the opposite of his character arc in the original film, I looked at it as "it's not the real giant, it's just a simulation" and I guess it's the same thing for Space Jam 2 (I mean I'll give Warner this much credit, at least they don't make shitty reboots and remakes just to hold onto rights like what Fox did to keep X-Men and Fantastic Four or just be Disney with their scumbag tactics if that's the case at all for the giant's recent resurgence) but The Iron Giant was a box office bomb, which is why it confuses me that they allow the giant to show up in other things because for them the movie flopped and for fans it would just piss them off.

Anyway, I love these characters (even though this was more about the giant) in a totally not original move I wanted to draw them together, I was thinking about making a feux cover with Superman battle the giant but I couldn't do that in good faith nor if someone paid me to do it, I don't think these characters should/would fight each other, I imagine Superman would show up to find the giant and the giant, like a child would just be awe inspired at the sight of Supes, Superman would probably start out on edge but then lowers his guard a bit and learns more about the giant, leading up to him leading the giant to the Fortress of Solitude and learning more of his past and purpose. Hell I think there could be a compelling story where Brainiac takes over the giant and Superman has to find a way to free him without killing him or severly hurting him. Also thinking about it more, it's really fucked up that a race of aliens made war robots that can feel pain.
