This is one thing I really wish could have happened in the show, for Vlad and Jack to finally talk about what happened at least to some degree so that Vlad could start to heal from the scars the accident left on him and for Jack to open his eyes and see that his thoughtless actions have consequences. Literally, the only part I sort of liked about Phantom Planet was that Vlad finally spelled out what Jack did to him. If done right this could have led to a redemption arc for Vlad after he realized and accepted that Jack never meant to hurt him so he could let go of all that hate and anger, but sadly it was not to be. Still, this is a great drawing with a lot of emotion so well done!

Unfortunately it didn`t go that way though. True they did talk to each other about it on the shuttle but Vlad just tore into Jack saying how much he was a fool and that he ruined his life and that he WASNT his friend at all and wanted to take his wife and son from him. Jack admitted to him that what happened with the ecto acne was an accident but Vlad didnt want to hear it which Jack FINALLYΒ realized how much of a bitter jerk off he really was which led him to abandon him on that asteroid.

Yeah, Vlad's a stubborn guy and in the end, he pushed everyone away and that part is hardly Jack's fault. They could have reconciled years ago and more importantly, he could have been a good mentor to Danny instead of an enemy. But that's what fanfics and comics are for! I still hate how things ended for Vlad but its not surprising given everything you pointed out.
Dang it Vlad, why do you always have to sabotage your chances at happiness!

Yes Vlad could`ve been a goodΒ mentor for Danny and help him with his powers but he went at it the wrong way. "I have knowledge child experience I can train you all you have to do is join me and renounce your father" like Danny would really do that! Vlad would never reconcile or redeem himself.
