Description A simple owl family. Created for my niece. I'm only posting this now because my sister doesn't generally look at my art page, so hopefully this will remain a surprise for the moment. *keep fingers crossed*

Done in the same simple style that I used for my nephew's owl .

Thank you very much! I finally gave the art print to my niece this Christmas. I always get a chuckle over her brother-owl not paying attention and gazing off-screen.

Thanks, my good sir! And-what? What?! Just what kind of owls are we talking about here.

Barn owls I believe. Β There's an old granite quarry out my window and several abandoned structures they reside in. Β  It's very cool.

Yep. And that's so neat! I'm jealous. I've only seen owls in the wild about, hmmm. maybe five times in my life. Always snowy owls. They're gorgeous. I used to have one that would show up outside my house every few nights and hoot for hours. I rarely saw him, though.

The best story I have is from when my dad worked in a cemetery. A family of owls ended up nesting in the tall spruces there. One day there was a big windstorm and the babies got knocked out of the trees. They couldn't fly yet, so my dad and uncle ended up using a tractor to get them back up to their nest. They would wrap a baby in a jacket, one at a time, and stand in the bucket while the other person operated the tractor (not advised to be done by anyone, anywhere, at any time, no matter their experience).

That is an awesome story!!! Β I love when people do something unexpected and wonderful in this world - it gives me hope.

I consider myself lucky to be working in an office with a view of nature. Β I can't imagine going back to a job surrounded by human construct - isolated from the true beauty of the world.

I was pretty young when this happened, but I don't think I'll ever forget the story. There's been a couple times when my dad's done something to help others where I can only think: 'How'd I get so lucky to get a dad like you?' He's incredibly selfless when someone else needs help.

That is lucky! Is you office on the edge of town/the city? I grew up in the country, so I think I'll always enjoy that sort of environment more.

I work in a smaller city. Β Kind of on the edge of civilization. Β I've got some photos posted here somewhere.Β

Well, I wanted them to represent my niece's family, and her brother can't sit still at all. I thought it fitting that he wouldn't be facing the viewer.
Thank you so much, Lawrence!

Yeah. Hee. I think cartoon owls look cuter as rolly-polly as they can be made.

Rolly-Polly things are usually the cutest.

True. True. Well... there may be a limit to the amount of roll-polly-ness that's adorable, but I haven't reached it yet!

I don't know...
I do recall a picture of my dog, when I was a kid, who'd become a little rolly-polly... it may be the most frightening and horrible picture I've ever seen of him. So, yes... there may be a limit.
