Description
This is an unfinished piece portraying Lyra and Will from the Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman. They were going to be looking up at the dragonflies and a blue hawk against the sky. Tialys was going to be on Wills shoulder and Salmakia grabbing Lyra's collar. I like it, but I feel there are just too many problems with this picture to keep going, so I have a new one depicting this scene in the works. This one really helped me get a feel for it though and I think it's good as a colour testconstructive criticisms welcome

The composition and colors are amazing, but I see what you mean about something being off (I think Will's face is sort of awkward). I love all the details like Will's fingers, and the hawk just takes my breath away. Can't wait to see a finished version!!

Well being overly critical about your work never hurt anyone. Sometimes it's best to start over with a clean canvas, even if you have a lot of things going right in this version. Good luck!
