Mortasheen profile: [link]Only the second time I've made a serious attempt to color one of my own pencil-drawn monsters. This doesn't mean Heartsucker has to be these colors, of course. All Mortasheen monsters can vary to some degree.
Heartsucker is actually THE oldest Mortasheen design, as it developed from a doodle I did years before I even had my "necromon" idea. It's also still one of my top favorites, being a loving exaggeration of my favorite animal.

I'd have thought your favorite animal would be some sort of fly, so this is a surprise. I've always thought fleas were kind of cute up close, in a grizzled, laterally compressed, why-do-its-forelimbs-look-like-they're-sprouting-from-its-head kind of way.

Seeing all of them in pencils I always imagine everything you draw is a grey-green color. Totally unexpected color scheme, but it looks amazing!

it's basically the color of a real flea. They often look black but with light on them they're shades of orange.

I think the nostril antennae are my favorite part. Nostrils and antennae always feel analogous to me.

Me too, unless there's utterly no eyes, then I can't help focusing on the base of the antennae as if they were the eyes

As ever, this is some awesome work Scythe. In particular, I love the semi-transparent eyelids, they really stand out as cute/creepy in it's colored form. My one criticism(Because, let's face it, I'm a dick.) is that the inner mouth parts look a little flat, but seriously... Keep up the good work.

Hooooooly crap. Heartsucker was badass before, but this is incredible! Colors really change a lot of things.
And Heartsucker was the first Mortasheen? Huh. Kind of unexpected, like Rhydon being the first Pokemon.
