This was done using my finger on my laptop's touchpad! The lines are a little more scraggly than I'd like, but alas, my finger is just not as accurate as I'd like it to be. XD It's my first official piece using GIMP, so I have no idea what I was doing and ended up editing it on MS Paint later...so sorry if the quality looks a little bad.Anyways! This is a list of all the boss monsters in Monster Hunter Tri. I'm sure many people use their own nicknames for various characters and bosses in different games. While there are "official" ones for the Monster Hunter series, such as "los" and "ian," I would play the arena mode with friends who weren't familiar with the game. They won't remember what a "qurupeco" is, but they'll know if I say, "Let's fight the big chicken again!" And so the use of these nicknames began.
Also I think chicken is just easier to pronounce.

You can do it! Lagiacrus can be scary the first couple times, but it gets easier with practice and willpower! And the pickle has made many a hunter shout those very words as they flee in terror! XD

I call Lagiacrus Laggy Lagi, Ceadeus Beluga Whale With a Beard, Great Jaggi is Alcoholic, and Peco is Annoying.

Yeh, I wanna see a malfestio/ fated 4/ mitzy(full one though!) short soon. But right now I'm currently 1. testing style/wpn combos, and 2. completing ALL the village quests for the Hayabusa Feather so I can get Canta's Aerial Pellet HBG set, and 3. To heck with school. >:/

I agree, it would be great to see one of those eventually! And it sounds like you've been keeping busy with the game! I hope you'll get that Hayabusa Feather soon! Nice! And I have, it was fun seeing that Direct! Granted, I probably won't be getting MHXX either (the MHX demo ran poorly on my old, sputtery 3DS, and I don't plan to upgrade since the Switch is around the corner) but I am excited to see what they're adding to the gameplay. I'm curious about what that new style with the barrel is, and if there will be other monsters in the future with that jetpack rocket motif haha! I find myself looking up MHXX news every few days to see if something new popped up, just because it's cool to see how they are developing the series.

Agnaktor = Iggy
Barioth= Mr. mittens/ or sand mittens for his cousin.

Haha barioth has such a cute nickname! Poor gigginox, though that nickname is rather fitting, especially with all those babies it sleeps with in its cave. XD
And thanks! I drew this 4 years ago back before I had a tablet and was one of my first digital pieces. Even though it's rough around the edges, I have a lot of fondness for it.

Queen Seltas= the tank
Tetsucabra= le crapaud (=toad)
Dalamadur= the snake god
Gore Magala= Batman

Fun nicknames! The seltas queen is a lot like a tank both in her appearance and movement huh? (We call her the hamburger, and her husband the fries haha). And gore magala does have quite some similarity to Batman, with that flowing cape and whole mysterious dark knight thing going on.

Uragaan-UUUUUUURAGAAAAHNN!!! in a throaty kind of yell - He's my arch rival.
Gigginox- I would ride a Gigginox, and I would name him Fruit Loop.

Gigginox would probably be one of the more naturally comfortable ones to sit on huh? Soft with an almost tempurpedic-like skin, plus waterproof too! XD And uragaan must be a fun one to say when you hunt with others!

I have one nickname for one monster. It's the last one. Instead of A-latreon, I call it HELL-atreon, because it literally looks like Pegasus made love with the Devil.

Haha Hypno for Great Baggi is quite fitting! And although Gobul looks like a porcupine, you're the first person I've heard who calls it that! You've got a fun set of nicknames there! I never thought of Barioth as walrus but now that you mention it, those tusks and the way it arcs back to roar definitely give it quite a resemblance!
