Summary: Russia, exhausted, wounded, and alone after the Cold War, decided to check on his old comrade one last time before setting out to seek for a new path; China, knowing his old comrade would one day return a changed man, despite the unpleasantness of their past, decided to carry on what was left with him

I hope this makes an acceptable contest entry. I know I should have emphasized on the "returning home" aspect, but then I honestly don't know how to interpret a post-Cold War theme otherwise

*facepalm* Crude lines and colors are crude, I feel totally pathetic... *dies in embarrassment*
The flag obviously lacks a symbol... I had a hard time deciding which to put on (yep, Communist party symbol are actually different for USSR and China), so I skipped it for good to save me brain energy.

Had Johnny Hates Jazz's 'Shattered Dreams' on repeat when drawing this. Sooo perfectly ROCHU angst
